2 Days in New York is a sequel to 2 Days in Paris, but you don’t need to have seen the first film to enjoy this one. All you need to know is that director, cowriter and star Julie Delpy is back, and her character, Marion, is in a happy relationship with Mingus Robinson (Chris Rock) as their blended family lives together in New York.
Unfortunately for the couple, Marion’s father, Jeannot (Albert Delphy), her sister, Rose (Alexia Landeau), and Rose’s boyfriend, Manu (Alex Nahon), are all in town to meet Mingus. That trio leaves a lot of chaos in their wake, especially Rose, who seems to be going out of her way to try to get Mingus’ romantic attention. There’s only so much Marion can do before the entire situation unravels.
