Meghan Markle is garnering disapproval regarding the most recent launch from her “As Ever” line.
The Duchess of Sussex posted a video on Instagram on Saturday, showing herself placing a gift inside a beige-and-brown stocking set against neutral-toned Christmas decorations.
“Oh, we see you! Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet, and you’ve already secured this,” Markle wrote as the caption, while wearing a dress in an olive shade.
The subdued aesthetic sparked debate online, with some social media users pointing out the irony.
MEGHAN MARKLE’S ‘INAUTHENTIC’ ROYAL RULES CLAIM IS JUST ANOTHER ‘PITY PARTY’: EXPERT
Many highlighted Markle’s earlier remarks about being required to wear neutral shades as a working member of the royal family as a method of fitting in.
“A color scheme can be a beautiful thing, but a Christmas one based on the color brown is tricky as all get out! She and the artistic team missed the mark in a very big way w/this pretentious attempt at chicness,” one user posted on X.
“She simply can’t be truthful and acknowledge that she’s fond of beige,” one user remarked. “And there is no issue with that. The only issue is, she should just acknowledge that she was untruthful about having to wear the color while in the UK.”
“There she is, the woman finally free to wear bright colors!” another person wrote.

In the 2022 Netflix series, “Meghan & Harry,” Markle spoke about the rationale behind her wardrobe selections.
“Most of the time that I was in the UK, I seldom wore color,” she stated in the series. “From what I understood, you’re never allowed to wear the same color as Her Majesty if there’s a group event, but then you also shouldn’t wear the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”

“I wore many muted tones, but it was also so I could simply blend in,” she went on. “I’m not attempting to stand out here. There was no version of me [that was] joining this family and trying not to do everything possible to fit in. I have no desire to embarrass the family.”
The criticism arises weeks after Markle and Prince Harry saw a change within their team.
Emily Robinson, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s communications director, resigned after only four months in the position, People magazine reported.
“Ms. Robinson oversaw work on a project basis for a highly successful season of ‘With Love, Meghan’ and provided further support for the production company,” a representative from Archewell, the organization handling the offices for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, told Fox News Digital. “She performed excellently and completed these projects very successfully.”

The abrupt departure has rekindled scrutiny of the Sussexes’ business endeavors in Hollywood, particularly as Meghan, 44, endeavors to establish herself as an entrepreneur.
“This most recent departure simply contributes to the ongoing instability and brand uncertainty within the couple’s disorganized operations,” British royals expert Hilary Fordwich stated to Fox News Digital.
“It’s a clear sign that Meghan Markle’s ambition to reshape her public image with a refined team is failing,” Fordwich asserted. “The optics are terrible as it really reinforces the unfavorable image of chaotic brand management, at best, as well as Meghan’s decreasing influence.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams previously told Fox News Digital that roughly 20 individuals have departed from their positions working for the Sussexes. The couple stepped back as senior royals in 2020 and relocated to California.
“There is increasing evidence to back up the rumors that Meghan Markle finds it difficult to adhere to the guidance of her advisors,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield of YouTube’s “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered” stated to Fox News Digital.
“Former staff inform me that she seems open to advice, acts as though she will implement it in the manner in which it has been presented, and then does the precise opposite,” Schofield claims. “Meghan holds the media and public responsible for misinterpreting or misunderstanding her. It’s a draining cycle, and ultimately an unsustainable one for many who have worked with her.”
