Williams caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff in the second quarter, tying the score at six. After scoring, Williams sprinted and jumped onto the padding surrounding the goalpost’s base.

His actions drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which had significant consequences. Philadelphia took the penalty, impacting the extra point attempt. Lions kicker Jake Bates faced a longer field goal in windy conditions at Lincoln Financial Field, which he missed, keeping the game tied.

Williams ended the game with four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Nonetheless, the Eagles emerged victorious with a score of 16-9.

The fourth-year wide receiver has played in 88% of the offensive snaps this season, despite starting only seven of the team’s nine games. Before the Eagles game, he had 27 receptions for 474 yards and four touchdowns.

Sunday’s touchdown marked his fifth of the 2025 season. He is coming off a strong 2024 season where he recorded 58 receptions for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns, all personal bests.

The Lions boast one of the league’s best offenses, but they encountered a formidable challenge in the Eagles’ determined defense, which had performed exceptionally well in recent games.
