Denise Richards Speaks Out After Restraining Order Against Former Partner Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards addressed the long-term restraining order she was granted against her former husband, Aaron Phypers, referring to it as “a process.”

Richards, 54, made an appearance at BravoCon in Las Vegas on Sunday, November 16, where she joined other network stars on stage for a panel.

Richards informed the audience that she was doing “good” after a judge ruled in her favor. As Us previously reported, the court ordered Phypers on November 7 to maintain a distance of 100 yards from her until 2030. (After Phypers filed for divorce, Richards was granted a temporary order on July 16.)

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star mentioned that it has been “a process” and that she benefits from a “great support system.”

Later in the panel, Richards acknowledged that the split has been “very daunting” because it is happening publicly. Richards stated, “It’s different because our personal life is exposed on reality shows. “You can’t pretend it’s not happening on reality [TV].”

As Us previously reported, Richards and Phypers testified in court as part of her request for a restraining order. Richards claimed Phypers allegedly assaulted her on numerous occasions throughout their marriage. She recounted a recent alleged incident in which Phypers became physical with her while she was recovering from surgery. Richards described the alleged abuse she endured in court documents.

She claimed, “Aaron would often violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back until I had to beg him to let go of me so he wouldn’t kill me, and hack into my laptop and phone to download all of my text messages.”

Phypers refuted ever touching or threatening Richards while on the stand. He asserted that one of the black eyes she attributed to him was the result of her colliding with a pole.

Phypers had previously told Us regarding the allegations, “These accusations are entirely false and extremely hurtful. Denise and I, like many other couples, have had our share of difficulties, but any claim of abuse is absolutely incorrect.”

Kathleen McAllister, Phypers’ cousin, testified during the trial that she witnessed him striking Richards at his wellness center in Malibu. Phypers refuted the assertion.

Phypers was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on October 17 after completing his testimony in the case. He was charged with two felony counts each for inflicting injury on a spouse and for using force or threats to dissuade a witness.

Phypers’ attorney, Michael Finley, had previously informed Us, “We can confirm that Aaron Phypers was indeed taken into custody close to the end of the family law court day on October 17, 2025, and was later freed on bond.”

Phypers’ attorney continued, “We have not yet reviewed the criminal complaint, but we think it is most likely based on some of the same false claims Denise Richards has made against Mr. Phypers in the family law domestic violence case, which she alleges happened almost four years ago. If that is the case, we are confident that the evidence will prove Mr. Phypers’ innocence and that he will be found not guilty.”

As Us initially reported, Richards and Phypers were recently the subject of an eviction lawsuit. (Before Richards moved out in 2023, the ex-spouses shared the home in question. Currently, Phypers and his family are the only people living in the house.)
