Jim Edmonds Shares Picture With His 3 Children Following Temporary Custody Ruling

After being temporarily granted custody of his kids, Jim Edmonds posted a picture of himself with them.

Edmonds, 55, posted a family picture to his Instagram Story on Friday, November 28, with his daughter Aspen, 9, and twin sons, Hart and Hayes, both 7, all of whom he shares with his ex-wife, Meghan King. Kortnie, Edmonds’ current wife, was also in the picture. “Lots of love,” he wrote as the caption.

The post follows Us Weekly’s November 19 report that King, 41, had temporarily lost custody of the three children as a result of a Child Protective Services investigation.

Earlier this month, several sources informed Us that King still had visitation rights under supervision, but Edmonds was awarded sole physical custody of the three children. The decision is only temporary until a hearing in December determines whether the custody arrangement will be made permanent.

King and Edmonds divorced in 2019 after getting married in 2014. The former couple made headlines in 2022 when King requested a temporary restraining order. She claimed in the legal documents that Edmonds subjected her to “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” both virtually and on Our Family Wizard, their court-monitored coparenting app.

Steve Honig, Edmonds’ rep, stated, “This request for an order of protection is completely baseless and furthermore makes an absolute mockery of the pain suffered by the millions of women in this country who are legitimate victims of abuse.”

Police were summoned to Edmonds’ house in May of this year  after King allegedly entered the residence he shares with his wife Kortnie without consent. King informed police that Edmonds was “emotionally abusive” to her, an allegation he refuted in a statement to Us in September.

A spokesperson claimed, “As usual, Meghan is making up stories. Because she and Jim hardly ever communicate, Jim is not the one who is emotionally abusing her. Jim is a present and involved father to all of his children. The unfortunate aspect of this is that the kids bear the brunt of it. Jim has always expressed a willingness to coparent respectfully and productively, but Meghan has not yet done the same.”

The pair has been transparent about the challenges they’ve encountered while navigating coparenting.

King exclusively revealed to Us Weekly in February that she and Edmonds have trouble coparenting peacefully.

“I have no idea what coparenting is. Communication is necessary for coparenting, correct?” she informed Us at that time. “Yes, so that would be a great place to start. I don’t believe the kids enjoy it. I don’t think they are aware of anything different, but I also don’t think they appreciate it. I wish we could talk about our kids’ issues, but we are unable to.”

King revealed two years before her coparenting admission that she had never “envisioned” her family being divided.

I used to believe that “families are created out of unconditional love.” I used to think that “two parents weather life’s storms but always stay together to celebrate the subsequent rainbows.” She posted on Instagram in May 2020 with complete honesty. “But that is not my story, and it makes me feel very regretful, as though I failed my kids by not giving them a nuclear family. But today, I’m choosing not to focus on the mistakes and terrible situations I have no control over; instead, I’m taking charge of how I react.

She came to the conclusion, “I miss my stepkids who made me a mother before I had my own children, and I send them all my love. I long for my freedom. I also lament the loss of what might have been. But in spite of this, I look at my amazing tribe with pride because I am the mother of three incredible kids, and they only have me.”
