Jada, Wife of NBA Luminary Chris Paul, Shares Celebratory Post Following His Retirement Announcement

Chris Paul’s spouse, Jada, has been by his side since his basketball journey began — and she is now witnessing its culmination.

After the NBA legend hinted at his exit from professional basketball on Saturday, November 21, concluding an impressive 21-year journey, Jada quickly shared a celebratory message for her high school love.

Jada, a fashion designer and business owner, reshared Chris’s retirement announcement video on her Instagram story, adding a supportive message.

“Helluva career! Helluva ride! So proud of you,” Jada expressed via her Instagram story.

Jada and Chris crossed paths when Chris was a junior and Jada was a senior in high school.

Jada recounted in a 2014 interview with xoNecole that a shared acquaintance brought them together. The pair finished high school and attended Wake Forest University together before Chris entered the NBA in 2005 following his sophomore year.

“We met in high school. I’m a year older than him, so back then it wasn’t cool for a senior to date a junior,” Jada shared in her 2014 interview with xoNecole.

The couple remained committed throughout college and married in September 2011 in North Carolina. Chris was already seven years into his NBA journey at that point.

Fellow NBA stars, including LeBron James and Dwayne Wade, were guests at the wedding. Celebrated comedian Kevin Hart also attended the star-filled event.

“Our relationship has steadily grown,” Jada shared with Essence magazine at the time. “I feel secure with Chris. He is very protective.”

Chris and Jada are parents to two children: Chris Jr., age 16, and Camryn, age 13.

Together, they established the CP3 Foundation in 2005 in collaboration with The Winston-Salem Foundation, aiming to positively influence society “by concentrating on education, health & wellness, and leadership. The foundation offers resources to support the wholesome growth of strong communities.”

Chris has consistently supported his wife over the years, telling People in a 2022 interview that it’s essential for him to recognize the women in his life.

“I believe that’s why I am fortunate to have been raised by a strong mother and to have an incredible wife, as well as the chance to raise two fantastic children,” he commented.

Shortly after being selected in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft, Chris quickly became a force in the league. He was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award following his inaugural season with the New Orleans Hornets (currently the Pelicans).

He played his first six seasons in New Orleans before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he remained for the subsequent seven years.

He was then traded to the Houston Rockets in 2017, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2019. In 2020, he became a member of the Phoenix Suns.

The 12-time NBA All-Star moved between several teams in recent seasons, ultimately re-signing with the Clippers during the summer, where his career will conclude.

Frequently acknowledged as one of the best point guards ever, he led the NBA in assists five times and topped the league in steals a record six times. He also secured two Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
