Kennedy claims Schumer is 'as anxious as a pregnant nun' while the socialist faction strengthens its hold during the government shutdown.

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., alleged that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., orchestrated what he termed a “political shutdown” to pander to the Democratic Party’s extreme left — an assertion Schumer has refuted.

“His truthfulness is questionable,” Kennedy stated on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday.

“He’s extremely anxious about potentially losing his re-election to the socialist part of his party, steered by Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, which is dominant.”

The shutdown commenced earlier in the month, causing travel disruptions and forcing thousands of federal workers to labor without remuneration.

House Republicans presented multiple proposals intended to resolve the impasse, but Democrats have declined to support any measures that do not incorporate an extension of enhanced ObamaCare subsidies, scheduled to lapse at the close of 2025.

Kennedy contended that Schumer is accommodating the party’s far-left contingent, but when questioned by a reporter on Capitol Hill, Schumer denied the allegation.

“No, the crucial point is quite straightforward. We’re advocating for the American populace, and it’s not merely a select group of Americans who desire this. It’s universally desired,” Schumer asserted Tuesday.

Nevertheless, Kennedy predicted Schumer will eventually concede.

“Senator Schumer is an astute individual. He’s experienced. He’s been around for a while. His initial vehicle was a chariot,” Kennedy remarked.

“Washington is his sole environment. He recognizes his policy position is precarious.”

Kennedy further stated his belief that Schumer will persuade sufficient Democrats to align with Republicans to terminate the shutdown.

“He’ll express, ‘I cannot concur with you. I must project an image of strength. I might even need to critique you, but subtly. I’m attempting to gain favor with the radical faction of the party,’” Kennedy conveyed.

“However, he must proceed cautiously, as he doesn’t want it to appear as a revolt, which would further diminish his image.”
