Khloe Kardashian Claims She Persuaded Kim Kardashian That the Lunar Landing Was Faked

Khloé Kardashian is facing criticism due to her sister Kim Kardashian’s belief that the moon landing was a hoax — because she is the one who convinced Kim it was not real.

“I am not a believer in the moon landing,” Khloé, 41, revealed to People in an interview that was published on Tuesday, November 18. “That’s quite the hot topic. And I feel responsible because I think I stirred Kim up about it, and I’ve gotten her into quite a predicament!”

Khloé said that she and her brother, Rob Kardashian, “do not believe” that the 1969 moon landing involving astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin “occurred,” and as a result, the siblings have shared “a lot of details” regarding the conspiracy theory with Kim, 45.

“I feel guilty regarding that, but I’m sticking to my guns on this!” she declared.

Kim found herself in the headlines last month after she brought up the Apollo 11 space mission with All’s Fair costar Sarah Paulson during an episode of The Kardashians.

“I’m going to send you a plethora of interviews with Buzz Aldrin. This [reporter] asks, ‘What was the most frightening part?’ And he responds, ‘There was no frightening part because it was all staged. It could have been frightening, but it wasn’t because it was all made up,’” Kim told Paulson, 51, before adding, “I am under the impression that it did not occur. I’m going to investigate this further. I always send [Sarah] conspiracy theories.”

The video being referenced was actually several interviews with Aldrin that lacked context and were edited to mislead viewers, including a clip from a 2015 event in which Aldrin stated that there were no “frightening” moments that took place during his journey to the moon. A separate video featured Aldrin explaining at the 2015 National Book Festival that budget problems are the reason for the lack of space travel. (A representative for Aldrin declined to comment when the video gained traction online.)

When providing her reasoning as to why the 1969 space trip was not plausible, Kim stated, “There isn’t gravity present on the moon. Why is the flag waving in the wind? The footwear that they have on display at the museum that they wore on the moon has a different footprint than in the photos. Why are there no stars visible? They’re gonna call me crazy regardless but check it out for yourself on TikTok.”

While Kim suggested that Aldrin says he never traveled to the moon “all the time these days” and suggested that Khloé interview him for her podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land,” NASA went to social media shortly after the episode aired to correct the record.

“@KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon on multiple occasions… 6 times!” NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy posted on X. “And it gets even better: @NASAArtemis is preparing to go back there under the direction of @POTUS. We were victorious in the previous space race, and we will be victorious in this one as well.”

Even though NASA spoke out against Kim’s theories, Khloé maintained her position while speaking with People on Tuesday, alleging that the government will refuse to “acknowledge” that they faked the moon landing because it would raise other questions that are not able to be answered.

“I mean, there’s an extensive list of subjects you could delve into, but some are far too frightening to discuss publicly because you don’t want to upset anyone,’ she claimed.
