Paradise star Nicole Brydon Bloom is looking forward to entering into a “completely new” era with husband Justin Theroux.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I love kids,” Bloom, 31, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Tuesday, February 24. “I’ve always been looking forward to this chapter in my life, and certainly Justin has been, too.”
Bloom is hopeful that parenthood will mark an entirely new chapter in the pair’s relationship.
“It’ll have its challenges with going back to work and everything, but I’m just thrilled, very happy,” she added.
Bloom and Theroux, 54, announced in December 2025 that they were expecting their first baby together, nine months after their wedding in Tulum, Mexico.
The couple met through mutual friends in 2022 when introduced at a bar in New York City.
“After the party, a group of us went to grab a drink nearby,” Bloom told Vogue in March 2025. “It was an abnormally cold night in New York City — about six degrees — and Justin very kindly offered me his gloves, which I gratefully accepted and promptly returned once we were back inside.”
The ring that Bloom was wearing that night slipped off into Theroux’s gloves. He sent her a picture holding the “little criss-crossed diamond ring.” Bloom assumed it had been lost.
“Justin put his hands into the glove the next morning and the ring slid halfway onto his finger,” she added. “He likes to joke that I proposed first, the very first night we met!”
Theroux was convinced that Bloom leaving her ring in the glove was intentional.
“Now, knowing Nicole as well as I do, it certainly was not. She has left more jewelry, jackets, and bags in places than I can count. So, definitely not a move,” he added. Theroux knew Bloom was “The One” the night they met — he even said as much to a friend.
“I had no way of knowing how prescient his comment would turn out to be,” he added. “I then begged him to go over to collect her name, which like an idiot I had not gotten.”
Theroux proposed to Bloom in August 2024 during a trip to Italy.
“We were looking out at the water and the moon when he proposed. He said some of the most beautiful things,” she recalled. “It was wonderful — we were both crying.”
They chose Mexico as the backdrop for their March 2025 wedding as a way to pay homage to the place they first fell in love.
“We wanted a destination that felt private, romantic, and very relaxed,” she told Vogue of their wedding weekend. “The best part? We had a full moon for the entire weekend. It rose directly behind us on the beach on Thursday and felt very full circle from the proposal to now.”
Theroux reflected on the ceremony as well.
“All I’ll say is, it was wonderful,” the actor recalled. “Ceremonies with vows are about the words contained within them. And they are better left un-described here. That being said, the officiant said some wonderful things, and my wife was just … well, incredibly touching. I was very moved.”
