Mercedes “MJ” Javid, known from Shahs of Sunset, is divorcing Tommy Feight, her husband of seven years, Us Weekly can confirm.
Javid submitted divorce papers to Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, October 17. The date of their wedding was listed as March 21, 2018, with the separation date matching the filing date.
Javid, 53, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the separation, requesting that neither she nor Feight receive spousal support.
The former couple has a 6-year-old son named Shams. Javid has asked the court to grant her primary legal and physical custody of their child, with visitation rights for Feight.
In a separate court document, Javid stated, “I have been the parent primarily involved in the caregiving and overall needs of our minor son. I take our son to school and pick him up every day. I also organize and take our son to his play-dates, parties, doctor’s, and dentist’s appointments.”
The Bravo personality continued, “Likewise, I am responsible for his extracurricular activities and school activities with little to no involvement from [Feight]. The hours I work are entirely within my control, giving me the flexibility to continue being primarily responsible for our son in this way.”
“I do not want to estrange [Feight] from our son and am happy to mutually agree to additional visitations or modifications for our son’s benefit.”
Feight, also 53, has not yet responded to the divorce filing.
Javid posted a message to her then-husband on Instagram on June 15, saying, “Happy Father’s Day my love. You’re such a good dad. Shams Francis and I have the best times with you. And we don’t have as much fun unless we are with you. Best of times.”
Feight celebrated their wedding anniversary in 2023, writing, “5 years ago we took our leap into forever and ever! I am eternally grateful to have you by my side – Happy Anniversary @mercedesjavid – P.S. thanks for the kid.”
Javid and Feight’s relationship began in 2015, and they became engaged the following year. Javid told E! News in 2017 that “We got engaged a year in and then we went through a lot of ups and downs with family and just a lot of life curveballs.”
Javid added, “My dad took a turn for his health … and Tommy and I moved in together. All of these stressful things just made our bond even tighter and when you have so many important life things happening, you don’t pick fights with each other. You just want to stay sane and have as much gratitude and support for one another.”
Javid appeared in all nine seasons of Shahs of Sunset. TMZ reported in April 2022 that Bravo had canceled the show.
In May, Bravo shared that Javid, along with two of her Shahs of Sunset costars, Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, would be returning to the network with a new reality series titled The Valley Persian Style.
