The children of Mark Wahlberg have reached an age where they enjoy teasing their father about his movie roles.

In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Wahlberg mentioned that he anticipates his four children will poke fun at him as he portrays a father on-screen struggling to organize an international vacation for his family.

“I like watching a movie with them, and this weekend we’ll watch ‘Family Plan’ together as a family, and they’ll tease me and imitate me,” Wahlberg stated.

“What I enjoy most is the imitations themselves. Their teasing is great because they’ll get up and perform, making each other laugh, which makes me laugh endlessly,” he added.

The actor — the youngest of nine Wahlberg siblings, including Donnie Wahlberg from “Blue Bloods” — has four children with his wife, Rhea Durham: Ella, 22; Michael, 19; Brendan, 17; and Grace, 15.

Wahlberg shared that his four children enjoy mimicking his Boston accent and debating which characters could “defeat him.” Jason Bourne is a popular on-screen character that the Wahlberg children believe could beat their dad on-screen.

Jason Bourne is a former CIA assassin played by Matt Damon in the Jason Bourne film series.

“Well, they imitate the Boston accent a bit, they do a bit of ‘the angry dad,’ you know, they do a little bit of everything. They do a little bit of, oh, I think I’m tough, and you know. They talk about all the other characters in movies that would win against me, you know, and they’re saying, ‘Dad, you’d never beat Jason Bourne, you’d never beat this one.’ It’s endless. It’s endless, and I enjoy it greatly,” Wahlberg commented.

The most challenging aspect for Wahlberg in raising teenagers and young adults has been striking the right balance of freedom, ensuring they don’t make choices they might “regret.”

“It’s about finding the right amount of freedom for them to learn things on their own, but not so much that they’ll do something they’ll regret. And I know better than anyone that those things stay with you,” Wahlberg explained.

“We want to ensure they reach their full potential and raise them properly, most importantly by setting an example. I try to have a relationship with God, live a meaningful life, and keep making amends. If I could change many things from the past, I would, but I can’t. So, I focus on touching and inspiring people, using my talents to help others. I want the best for them. And, of course, kids grow up and make mistakes. Hopefully, they don’t make too many bad choices, but you know,” Wahlberg said.

“The Family Plan 2” is a follow-up to the original movie released in 2023. Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colleti, and Van Crosby will reprise their roles in the film. Kit Harington, known for “Game of Thrones,” will join the cast for the new movie.

Wahlberg discussed how he manages to balance being a dad both in real life and on-screen, especially with the action-packed scenes expected in the sequel.

“I always concentrate on the dad aspect. It’s what’s most relatable. We have bigger, better action, a better backdrop, and glamorous locations. But ultimately, it’s a character-driven movie where people connect with the family dynamic. There’s also a lot of humor that stems from it,” Wahlberg said.

He added, “We established a tone in the first movie and enhanced it in the second, making it relatable for the whole family. People can see themselves in these characters, and it’s enjoyable for everyone. Adults are enjoying the movie, and kids feel like they’re seeing something edgier, which is great.”

“The Family Plan 2” was released worldwide on Apple TV on Nov. 21.
