Blue Jays fend off Dodgers in a resilient effort, tying the World Series following an extended, hard-fought game.

The World Series, a best-of-seven affair, is currently tied at two games each.

Following Monday’s lengthy 18-inning contest, the Toronto Blue Jays rallied to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 in Tuesday night’s Game 4. Despite fatigue from the almost seven-hour game, Toronto’s offense, led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, found its stride.

Enrique Hernández’s sacrifice fly initially gave the Dodgers a lead, but Guerrero Jr.’s two-run home run in the third inning propelled Toronto ahead for good.

The Blue Jays rebounded shortly after country singer Brad Paisley jokingly declared himself “Mr. More Baseball.” He sang the national anthem before the marathon Game 3, which the Dodgers won 6-5 thanks to Freddie Freeman’s home run that concluded the game nearly seven hours after Paisley’s performance.

Shohei Ohtani, a key Dodgers player this postseason, was the starting pitcher for Los Angeles in Game 4. He pitched six innings, giving up four earned runs and recording six strikeouts.

The two-way phenomenon had a historic night earlier, becoming the first player since 1906 to collect four extra-base hits in a World Series game and reaching base nine times – equaling a Series record.

Bo Bichette’s two-RBI single in the seventh increased the Blue Jays’ advantage. Shane Bieber earned the victory for Toronto, pitching 5 ⅓ innings and conceding only one run. Ohtani was tagged with the loss.

The Dodgers used only three relief pitchers after Ohtani’s departure, while the Blue Jays used a total of four pitchers to secure the nine-inning victory.

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX before the series returns to Toronto for Game 6.
