Reports indicate that actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr. has passed away at the age of 42.
Myers, known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream, suffered a fatal heart attack at his residence in Maryland early Wednesday morning, October 29, as his mother, Renee Trice, revealed to TMZ in a report published that day.
Renee mentioned that her son had endured three heart attacks in the three years leading up to his passing on Wednesday. She told the publication that she had spoken with Myers on Tuesday night.
During his childhood, Myers portrayed a younger version of Will Smith in a 1992 episode of Fresh Prince. That same year, he also landed a significant role in The Jacksons: An American Dream, playing young Marlon Jackson. The ABC miniseries centered on the musical Jackson family, including the iconic Michael Jackson.
In 2000, Myers was featured in an episode of the WB drama Young Americans.
He later established The Fellaship Mens Group, which, according to its website, strives to “build a strong brotherhood of men dedicated to healing, growth, and purpose.” It continues, “Through wellness programs, honest conversations, and community engagement, we empower men to prioritize their mental, emotional, and spiritual health — so they can lead, love, and live with impact.”
His younger sister, Tyree Trice, has launched a GoFundMe page to provide assistance for Myers’ four children and to help with funeral costs.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of my beloved brother, Floyd Roger Myers Jr , who tragically left us today after a sudden heart attack,” she posted on Wednesday. “He was a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.”
She stated, “Roger leaves behind his four beautiful children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — and our loving family is now facing the unimaginable loss of someone who meant everything to us.”
Renee shared Tyree’s announcement on her Facebook page, commenting, “This not supposed to be so.”
The Fellaship Mens Group honored Myers on Instagram, posting a picture of him with his children.
“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder one of our co founders,” the organization wrote in a caption. “Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor. Next mens meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here.”
