Devotees of Selling Sunset have witnessed transformations in the cast, both onscreen and off, since its premiere.
Christine Quinn, as an example, has openly discussed the contrast between her appearance on the Netflix reality series — which debuted in March of 2019 — and her natural look when cameras are off.
“I’m always telling people: I’ve had a boob job, I get lip injections, lots of Botox, and a lot of makeup. My appearance on [Selling Sunset] differs from my morning look,” the realtor mentioned to Vogue back in September 2020. “For the show, I don’t style my hair. I do my own makeup because I enjoy it. From start to finish, including wardrobe, it takes about two and a half to three hours. My glam is also not cheap — $1,000 per day, if I go all out. Looking this ‘cheap’ is pricey.”
Despite altering her look for the show, Quinn emphasized her dedication to “plastic surgery transparency” due to the expectations that arise from it. She stated, “It’s crucial in a world where social media’s façade leads to body dysmorphia.” She added, “People assume [things are] authentic, but they’re not.”
