Federal authorities are investigating after a driver in Arizona allegedly rammed a vehicle carrying a pair of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during a traffic stop attempt Thursday morning, according to officials.
The episode unfolded around 8 a.m. local time, as ICE agents attempted to stop a vehicle in the vicinity of Avondale, FOX 10 Phoenix reported.

Law enforcement sources claim that the driver did not stop and instead left the location, the outlet indicated.
The suspect then apparently went back to a home in his vehicle, where he rammed the ICE vehicle with the two officers inside.
FBI authorities, in a statement, verified that they are heading up the investigation into the incident and will pass on their conclusions to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona for a charging decision.

“The findings will be given to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona for a charging decision,” the statement said.
Authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the driver in question, whether anyone has been arrested, or whether there were any injuries.
The Avondale Police Department told Fox News Digital that the matter was handed over to the FBI.
Separately, in San Diego, three federal officers were reportedly hurt Thursday after a man, who ICE stated was in the country unlawfully, allegedly rammed his vehicle to evade arrest, according to reports.

According to Michael Burreec, a witness who spoke with ABC San Diego affiliate KGTV, the driver displayed “blatant disregard for human life and the rule of the law is exactly why ICE San Diego will continue to pursue, arrest and remove dangerous illegal aliens who threaten our communities.”
