Vehicle strikes White House barrier, suspect apprehended: authorities

According to the Secret Service, a suspect was taken into custody Tuesday night after driving a car into the White House barricade.

“On Tuesday, October 21, at around 10:37 p.m., a person drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate, situated at 17th and E St, NW, DC,” a Secret Service spokesperson stated.

“U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division officers promptly arrested the person, and the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department assessed the vehicle and declared it safe,” the statement continued.

The spokesperson indicated that more details will be shared after the investigation is complete.

DC Fire and EMS informed Fox News that they aided the Secret Service in an investigation before starting to clear the area.
