Who Is Ace Frehley's Former Wife? Get to Know Jeanette Trerotola, the Ex-Wife of the Former Kiss Guitarist

Ace Frehley, the former Kiss lead guitarist, experienced a true rockstar lifestyle both before and after his relationship with Jeanette Trerotola.

From the moment he helped form Kiss, the musician toured extensively and lived a life many artists can only imagine.

Away from performing, Frehley (born Paul Daniel “Ace” Frehley) also had a family when he wed Trerotola and they had a daughter.

In September 2025, the guitarist was in the news after fans learned he would be unable to perform anytime soon.

“Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,” read a September 25 post on Frehley’s Instagram account. “He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time.”

One month later, a post on Frehley’s verified Facebook page read, “Due to some ongoing medical issues, Ace has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates.”

On October 16, Us Weekly reported that Frehley had passed away at 74. “We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others,” his family said in a statement to Us. “The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!”

Ace Frehley and Jeanette Trerotol got married in May 1978 in New York City. Sources say Kiss performed “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Shout It Out Loud” at the party. The band reportedly didn’t wear their famous makeup for the occasion.

“Mr. and Mrs. Frehley, you wanted the best and you got ‘em!” tour manager J.R. Smalling reportedly said at the event.

Fehley’s father-in-law allegedly asked Kiss to leave the stage because they were drawing too much attention and distracting from the family’s celebration.

Did Ace Frehley and Jeanette Trerotola Have Any Children?

Even as Kiss was becoming known worldwide — with Frehley’s “The Spaceman” character becoming more popular — the musician and his wife had a child.

Monique was born in 1980.

“Me & My Lovely Daughter Monique hanging out over the years!” Frehley posted on Facebook in October 2021, sharing some rare family pictures. “Lots of Fun!!!”

Why Did Ace Frehley and Jeanette Trerotola Divorce?

Frehley’s 2012 book No Regrets shared details about what went wrong between him and Trerotola.

“A fresh start was in order and part of the process involved legally separating from my wife,” he reportedly wrote, recalling his seven-year marriage. “Jeanette had decided to move on, and was involved in a relationship with a local guy.”

Frehley also wrote about upsetting his wife when he was in a bad state. “Jeanette was screaming, ‘Paul! For Christ’s sake, you’re in Monique’s bedroom!’” he wrote.

How Did Ace Frehley Move On After His Split From Jeanette Trerotola?

Frehley started dating a schoolteacher named Lara Cove in 2018. They were romantically involved before splitting up after almost six years.

“I broke up with my ex, Lara. Sorry. She’s gone,” Frehley reportedly said at a concert in June 2024. “I still care about her. Wonderful girl, beautiful girl. We decided to part our own ways, and she’s happy, I’m happy. It was just time. Things go south, right? Statistically, three out of four marriages end after five years in this country. I don’t wanna be a bearer of bad news, but that’s reality.”

Cove also talked about the breakup on her My Art Of Glass Facebook page.

“After much thought and heartfelt conversations, Ace and I have decided to part ways,” she wrote. “This decision is a step we are taking as we both embark on new paths in our lives. I refuse to say one bad word about him and will not be discussing our breakup further. This statement is the only comment I will make on the matter, out of respect for him and my own integrity.”
