Following her defeat to Abigail Spanberger, Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears told attendees at her election night gathering in Loudoun County that she is “not going anywhere,” while expressing her hope that the governor-elect will govern as the moderate she consistently promised to be on the campaign trail.
“I believe I gain more knowledge from a defeat than I ever do from a victory,” Earle-Sears stated.
“I don’t believe we fell short — I believe we tried exceptionally hard — so many had dismissed me for so long, and it’s an incredible thing to observe. And we simply persisted and persisted.”
Earle-Sears mentioned she attempted to call Spanberger, but Spanberger did not answer. She conveyed her best wishes and affirmed her willingness to volunteer to assist the Spanberger administration in achieving any objectives that would benefit Virginia.

“I urged her to consider all Virginians – that she will represent all of us and not just some of us,” she remarked.
“I hope that Abigail considers school choice, opportunities for our children to excel – there can’t be only one option. How dare you obstruct a parent who expresses a desire for something different for their child,” she exclaimed.
Earle-Sears further stated that she campaigned on “foundational ideas” such as repealing car taxes, safeguarding children and their education, and expanding the economy.

“I don’t view this as a defeat because … I identify as a Christian first and a Republican second, and that’s how it should always be — no political party has ever sacrificed their life for me,” she explained.
“I’m not going anywhere — and neither are you,” she declared, adding that Virginia is not a radical-left state and that she intends to maintain it that way.
“We must pray for Abigail, we must pray for our government.”
“I’m honestly not even supposed to be here to contemplate this. I mean, I am an immigrant from another country, and yet you all have granted me the opportunity to do this,” she expressed.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Earle-Sears’ spokeswoman Peyton Vogel conveyed that she is “incredibly proud” of the campaign the outgoing lieutenant governor conducted, and that Virginia, regardless, achieved a historic milestone by electing its first female governor.
