Adam Brody and Leighton Meester made a stylish appearance for their recent date night at the season 2 premiere of Nobody Wants This.
The pair posed together on the red carpet on Thursday, October 16, where Brody, 45, looked sharp in a gray blazer, orange sweater and charcoal-colored pants. Meester, 39, sparkled in a purple ombré dress featuring a plunging V-neck.
Brody plays Noah, an unconventional rabbi, in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This alongside Kristen Bell, who plays Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster. Meester, who has been married to Brody since 2014, will join her husband in the second season as Joanne’s childhood rival.
“Leighton is amazing. She’s so kind, she’s so fun, and she’s so funny, and seeing them together on set, they’re just so sweet together,” Justine Lupe, who portrays Joanne’s sister on the show, exclusively shared with Us Weekly last month at the 2025 Emmy Awards. “They’re a truly wonderful couple, so we were very excited to have her. I’m so glad she agreed to do it.”
Meester, who also went to the Emmys with her husband, echoed Lupe’s feelings and told Entertainment Tonight that she had “one of the most enjoyable times [she’s] ever had on a set” while shooting her Nobody Wants This scenes.
Nobody Wants This was conceived by sisters Erin and Sara Foster. The series was loosely inspired by Erin’s own interfaith marriage to Simon Tikhman. (Erin, 43, converted to Judaism when she married Tikhman, 41, in 2019.)

“This show is rooted in the only good choice I’ve ever made: falling for a good Jewish guy,” Erin revealed to Tudum in September 2024. “I came to the realization that being happy is much harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so difficult.”
Brody has also been outspoken regarding his decision to sign onto Nobody Wants This, which earned him a Critics Choice Award for his performance in season 1.
“You become very acquainted with someone on set relatively quickly; if I sit here with you for three more hours, we’ll know each other quite well and feel comfortable,” Brody said regarding working with Bell, 45, in a 2024 interview with The Los Angeles Times. “It’s not something that can’t be achieved, but I do believe having worked together before, knowing we got along, knowing that we collaborate well — you know there’s a solid foundation, if that’s the right way to put it. You’re starting from a favorable position. How far you can progress is still up in the air.”
While it remains to be seen how Meester will factor into Bell and Brody’s onscreen romance, the OC actor enjoys frequently working with his wife.
“Everything is discussed with each other. We function as each other’s manager. We also share the same two agents,” Brody mentioned to Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, on his “Armchair Expert” podcast in September 2024. “We are involved in each other’s affairs in that sense. … She’s charmingly oblivious to the industry side of things. She genuinely wouldn’t know Seth Rogen’s name, you know? It’s really great because it doesn’t detract from her artistic ability. That’s not where her focus lies, so she maintains that outsider perspective and she can step in, but she’s a true artist.”
Nobody Wants This season 2 will be available on Netflix starting Thursday, October 23.
