Anne Hathaway Steps Out With Husband Adam Shulman for Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Anne Hathaway enjoyed a rare date night on the red carpet with her husband, Adam Shulman, as she received accolades at God’s Love We Deliver’s 2025 Golden Heart Awards in New York City.

The 42-year-old Oscar winner and her spouse, a jewelry designer, appeared enamored as Shulman assisted his wife from a vehicle in front of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine for the Monday, October 20, red carpet affair. Later, Hathaway posed by herself on the red carpet while Shulman, 44, watched.

Hathaway, the star of The Devil Wears Prada, looked stunning in a completely black outfit and wore her hair loose for the event. Besides posing for pictures alone, she was photographed with notable attendees such as model Gigi Hadid, fashion designer Michael Kors, and fellow honoree Audra McDonald.

The yearly awards recognized Hathaway and McDonald, 55, for their ongoing commitment to God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that provides medically customized meals to individuals unable to shop or cook independently.

Monday’s red carpet appearance occurs only a couple of months following Hathaway’s uncommon remarks regarding her family life with Shulman and their two sons, Jonathan, 9, and Jack, 5, in an interview with Vogue.

The article mentioned that “for leisure,” when the actress isn’t working, she enjoys “hanging out” with her family.

“Uno games, baking when we can, showing the kids how to dribble a basketball in the apartment without bothering the neighbors,” Hathaway mentioned as some of the activities she shares with her husband and their children.

In that same article, actor Bradley Cooper spoke about developing a connection with Hathaway and Shulman through play dates with their children during the COVID pandemic. (Cooper, 50, has daughter Lea, 8, with his former partner Irina Shayk.)

“We began associating as parents, hosting dance celebrations with kids in my cooking area, and I developed feelings for both of them,” Cooper stated.

Cooper proceeded to commend Hathaway and Shulman’s marriage as “a symbol for that type of commitment” and mentioned that they “enrich” one another.

Hathaway and Shulman initially met in April of 2008 and started seeing each other later that year. In 2011, they got engaged, and they were married a year later.

During a 2013 interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.K., the star of The Idea of You stated that she “knew the instant I met him that he was the love of my life.”

“’I’m going to be married to that man.’ I believe he assumed I was a little crazy, which I am somewhat, however I’m likewise pleasant,” she remembered telling a friend.

Hathaway also posted on Instagram on Monday, sharing what she has been doing recently. She partially wrote, “I’m running again … but not in heels because [Devil Wears Prada 2] principal [sic] photography is DONE.”

Hathaway is reprising her role as Andrea “Andy” Sachs in the follow-up to the popular 2006 comedy The Devil Wears Prada, once again starring with Meryl Streep, who plays fashion editor Miranda Priestly. Likewise, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci will repeat their roles as Miranda’s assistant, Emily Charlton, and stylist Nigel Kipling, respectively.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2026.
