Jaguars' kicker sets a new NFL record with the longest successful field goal.

Cam Little, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ kicker, etched his name into NFL history books on Sunday.

Little established a new record for the longest field goal ever, successfully kicking a 68-yarder before the halftime break against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence connected with wide receiver Parker Washington on an 18-yard pass. Head coach Liam Coen chose to attempt the field goal rather than a lengthy Hail Mary. The risk paid off, putting Jacksonville on the scoreboard before halftime.

Little surpassed the previous record held by Justin Tucker, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens.

Tucker made a 66-yard field goal in September 2021, contributing to the Ravens’ victory over the Detroit Lions.

Earlier this season, Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin successfully kicked a 65-yard field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles, which equaled Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey for the second-longest of all time at that moment. Aubrey also made a 64-yarder against the New York Giants this season.

Little was familiar with kicking long field goals, having impressed NFL fans with a 70-yard field goal during the preseason. In regular season games, eight kickers have tried 70-yarders, but none have been successful. Little may be the one to break that record next.

Las Vegas held a 6-3 lead at halftime. Raiders tight end Brock Bowers caught a touchdown pass thrown by Geno Smith.
