Mel Owens, the Season 2 Golden Bachelor, has narrowed down his choices to the final three ladies.
The 66-year-old, who previously played in the NFL and then became a lawyer before entering reality TV, presented roses to three women on Wednesday, October 15, during the ABC show. Peg, Debbie, and Cindy will now have the much-desired hometown dates.
“Your families, naturally, are your biggest supporters and always want what’s best for you,” Mel told the six remaining women before the rose ceremony began. “So, if you receive a rose, we will be together for a significant and genuine amount of time. This is not a simple choice for me. I deeply value it and I respect each of you.”
During the Wednesday rose ceremony, Cheryl, who had professed her love for Mel, and Nicolle, the season’s renowned villain who promoted herself for Golden Bachelorette as she left in the limo, were sent home by Mel. Meanwhile, Carol had chosen to leave earlier in the episode because she realized Mel wasn’t her ideal partner.

“I’ve encountered many disappointing people; I hope to finally meet a good man,” Peg confided in her daughter during a FaceTime call on Wednesday’s episode. “I have feelings for him. I’m emotionally invested, which makes me a bit uneasy because nobody wants to be hurt or heartbroken.”
Debbie
The Facts: This 65-year-old fitness expert from Denver, Colorado, has never been married.
The Hometown: Denver, Colorado
During Wednesday’s show, Mel mentioned to Jesse Palmer that Debbie had never been married. “She is truly special. Although she has never been married, love can be found at any stage of life,” he stated.
Nevertheless, Debbie has expressed her growing affection for him. Mel told host Jesse Palmer that it was a “profound feeling.”
Debbie later confessed to the cameras, “Telling Mel that I was falling in love with him just came out. I’m ecstatic.”
Cindy
The Facts: Specializing in roses from group dates, she is a 60-year-old retired biomedical engineer.

After consistently receiving roses on group dates, Cindy finally had her first one-on-one date on Wednesday, during which he named a star after her as a gift.
“I have great feelings about Mel,” Cindy admitted to the cameras. “I love spending time with him. He is such a wonderful man. I’m on cloud nine, and I’m crazy about Mel Owens. I’m falling, and I’m falling fast, and I really think the stars are in our favor.”
Cindy told her daughter during a FaceTime call that Mel is “everything” she had been looking for. “I envision a future with Mr. Mel Owens,” she stated. “It’s more than a little frightening; it’s quite scary. I wanted to fall in love, but what if he doesn’t catch me?”
