Reports indicate the Jets are sending All-Pro Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys as the NFL trade deadline frenzy intensifies.

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ defeat against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night, owner Jerry Jones suggested a potential trade, and it seems he finalized it.

Reports indicate that the New York Jets have traded All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys, in what is reportedly their second major NFL trade deadline transaction on Tuesday.

The initial move involved Sauce Gardner, who had previously agreed to a four-year extension during the offseason, being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a pair of first-round picks.

According to the terms, the Jets obtained a 2027 first-round pick from the Cowboys, specifically the higher of their own and the Green Bay Packers’, the latter of which had previously been sent to Dallas in the Micah Parsons transaction. New York also secured a 2026 second-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith, Dallas’ former first-round selection from Michigan.

The Cowboys’ defense has struggled this year, making the preseason Parsons trade look questionable through this season’s first half. Despite the Cowboys also needing edge help, Williams is set to join forces with Kenny Clark, another All-Pro defensive tackle acquired in the deal with Green Bay.

JETS TRADE ALL-PRO CORNERBACK SAUCE GARDNER TO COLTS IN BLOCKBUSTER MOVE: REPORTS

Following their 27-17 defeat to the Cardinals on Monday night, the Cowboys now hold a 3-5-1 record this season, and the problem isn’t their offense. Dallas ranks second-to-last in both yards allowed per game (397.4) and points allowed per game (30.8).

Conversely, the Cowboys are among the league’s highest-scoring teams, holding the fourth-most points per game in the NFL (29.2).

Williams, a seven-year veteran with three Pro Bowl selections, has accumulated one sack, 32 total tackles, and seven tackles for loss in eight games this season.

Throughout his career, Williams has amassed 40 sacks, 322 total tackles, 101 quarterback hits, and 59 tackles for loss. He is an exceptional run stopper with the ability to pressure the quarterback, an area where the Cowboys need significant improvement.
