NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Saturday, Times Square in New York City was flooded with at least 100,000 individuals for the “No Kings” demonstration. Fox News Digital engaged with over a half-dozen participants to learn their motivations for protesting against President Trump.
“Because I’m an American, and unlike many in this nation, I’ve learned from the past. History tends to repeat itself,” Ed stated to Fox News Digital when questioned about his presence at the rally.
“It seems people don’t grasp this, and we’re on a dangerous path, possibly halfway down already. If we don’t rise up, protest, and spread our message throughout America, we risk becoming just another one of those ‘s***hole countries’ Trump mentioned. That’s the direction he’s steering us.”
The demonstration remained peaceful as protesters congregated in Times Square and marched along 7th Avenue, brandishing diverse signs, some more provocative than others.
REPUBLICANS CRITICIZE ANTI-TRUMP ‘NO KINGS’ PROTESTS, ASSERT DEMOCRATS FEAR ANTAGONIZING LEFTISTS DURING SHUTDOWN DISPUTE
“No fuhrers,” one sign declared, accompanied by a crossed-out swastika. Another sign stated, “ICE melts faster under pressure,” alluding to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency where its agents have experienced a 10-fold increase in violent incidents against them in recent months.
“We are under a fascist regime in America, aided by a fascist media,” Brad informed Fox News Digital. “People must make their voices heard. There’s this notion that Trump represents America. He represents nothing of the sort; he embodies hate, opposes the Constitution, stands against our core values, and prioritizes himself and his associates over the American populace.”
Nicole shared with Fox News Digital that her motivation stemmed partly from her recovery from cancer, coupled with her husband’s recent cancer diagnosis. She mentioned receiving a notice indicating their health insurance cancellation in July 2026.

“So, we can indiscriminately bomb boats off the Venezuelan coast, allocate substantial funds to ICE for terrorizing individuals, and deprive families of essential food and health care,” Nicole expressed. “It’s appalling.”
Laura, identifying herself as a Seattle resident on vacation in New York City, felt compelled to join the rally. She conveyed to Fox News Digital her conviction that failing to “collectively” convey disapproval would mean “giving up.”
“We might as well surrender,” Laura stated, emphasizing her concern as a married woman that her marriage “might no longer be valid” under Trump’s leadership.
“That’s f****** bull****,” Laura exclaimed.
Fox News Digital observed a man in yellow affixing an Antifa sticker to a street sign as protesters passed by. Numerous social media users shared images of signs referencing Antifa, which Trump designated as a domestic terrorist organization earlier this year.
Many protest signs employed the term “fascist” to characterize Trump, with several labeling Trump and his administration members as “Nazis.”
When questioned about the fairness of calling Trump a “fascist,” Laura responded, “I mean, he’s engaging in actions that contravene our Constitution.”
“He has bypassed numerous checks and balances within our government. It’s simply absurd. Furthermore, he staffs his cabinet with individuals lacking experience, intelligence, or consistency. They’re a complete joke, so yes.”
Edgar conveyed to Fox News Digital that “democracy is at stake,” while Lenny described Trump as a “fool” and a “clown.”
Significant gatherings occurred in major cities across the United States on Saturday, as anti-Trump protesters sought to argue that Trump has acted as a king, exceeding his authority.
The “No Kings” movement initially garnered national attention in June, coinciding with similar demonstrations held in response to the Army’s 250th anniversary military parade.
Trump, along with Republican members of Congress, has recently refuted the “king” label.
“They suggest I’m being referred to as a king. I am not a king,” Trump asserted on Fox News on Friday.
When questioned about the protests and potential National Guard deployment for crowd management, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson responded to Fox News Digital, “Who cares?”
