The Arizona Cardinals finally put an end to their five-game losing streak, achieving a convincing 27-17 victory against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cardinals, who began the season with a 2-0 record, now stand at 3-5, while the Cowboys – who suffered a blowout loss to the Denver Broncos the previous week – dropped to 3-5-1 as they head into their bye week.
Following their devastating loss at Mile High, all eyes were on the Cowboys entering this game, but the Cardinals also desperately needed a win to improve the team’s morale and keep their season alive.
Jacoby Brissett started at quarterback for Arizona once again, as Kyler Murray continues to recover from his toe injury. Brissett, however, was up to the challenge, with Marvin Harrison Jr. as his primary target.

The second-year receiver had an outstanding performance, recording seven receptions for 96 yards in the first half and scoring the game’s first touchdown with a remarkable move that caught cornerback Da’Ron Bland off guard.
However, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense – which has been averaging over 30 points per game this season – struggled to find their rhythm against the Cardinals’ defense. They turned the ball over on downs on their first drive and failed to score.
After a Cowboys punt, Harrison’s touchdown extended the lead to 10-0, and tight end Jake Ferguson’s fumble in Arizona territory halted another promising Dallas drive. But the Cowboys’ special teams responded when Sam Williams blocked a punt that bounced off his helmet and into the end zone, where Marshawn Kneeland recovered it for a touchdown.

Brissett and the Cardinals quickly answered, driving 74 yards in 11 plays before Brissett scored a rushing touchdown.
At the start of the third quarter, Michael Wilson immediately advanced the Cardinals into scoring territory with a 50-yard reception from Brissett, bringing them to Dallas’ 24-yard line. Shortly after, tight end Trey McBride increased the lead to 24-7 with an impressive catch on the right side of the end zone.
Dallas added a field goal, and then Prescott connected with Ryan Flournoy for a short touchdown, narrowing the deficit to 10. Considering that Arizona’s recent losses were decided by a single score, the game still felt uncertain.
Dallas managed another defensive stop, but it was the Cardinals’ defense that made a crucial play during the subsequent drive. Prescott was under pressure and quickly threw the ball to running back Javonte Williams, who was unprepared for the immediate hit from a Cardinals defender. During the tackle, the ball was forced out of Williams’ grasp, and Akeem David-Gaither recovered it before it went out of bounds.
That play occurred with 4:46 remaining in the game, and just when it seemed like another major collapse was possible, Arizona finally executed the play they needed.
In the box score, Brissett completed 21 of 31 passes for 261 yards and two touchdown passes, despite being sacked five times by the Cowboys. McBride recorded five receptions for 55 yards, while Emari Demercado led the rushing attack with 79 yards on 14 carries.
For Dallas, Javonte Williams gained 83 yards on 15 carries, but turnovers hurt the offense. Prescott completed 24 of 39 passes for 250 yards with one touchdown and one interception, which occurred on the Cowboys’ final drive.
CeeDee Lamb had 85 yards on seven receptions, while George Pickens added six receptions for 79 yards.
