Outside of her thriving career in Hollywood, Sydney Sweeney has been the subject of discussion due to her love life over the years.
Sweeney started seeing Chicago-based entrepreneur Jonathan Davino in 2018, and the two became engaged in March 2022.
“I’ve been in a committed relationship for a considerable amount of time, which is unusual in this industry and for someone my age,” Sweeney revealed in a February 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan. “I’ve observed that with fame, people enjoy building someone up only to later tear them down.”
Despite speculations of a romance between her and Anyone But You costar Glen Powell while they filmed the rom-com abroad, Sweeney and Davino remained together before ultimately ending their engagement in March 2025. (Both Sweeney and Powell refuted the cheating claims.)
“Sydney and Jonathan have officially broken up,” a source told Us Weekly at the time, adding that the actress is “telling her friends that she’s single.”
Almost half a year after her split from Davino, Sweeney and Scooter Braun stirred dating rumors after they were seen together at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Italy.
In October 2025, an insider told Us that Braun and Sweeney “are dating, and it’s becoming more serious.”
“They’re still not labeling it, but Sydney has been having a great time with Scooter,” the insider shared.

Jonathan Davino
Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino’s relationship began in 2018 after being seen at various events together, including the Hulu Emmys party and an InStyle dinner party. The pair got engaged in 2019.
In March 2024, Sweeney addressed the rumors of her and costar Powell being romantically involved while hosting Saturday Night Live, stating that Davino was the man of her “dreams.”
“That’s clearly not the case,” she commented regarding the rumors. “My fiancé and I produced the film together, and he was present throughout the entire shoot. I want everyone to know that he’s the man I dream of, and we’re still together, stronger than ever.”
Nearly a year later, an insider informed Us that Sweeney and Davino had “officially separated.”
After their split, the former couple was still seen together on multiple occasions, and another source explained that it was hard for them to completely cease communication.
“They had been together for so many years, and their lives are very intertwined,” the source shared with Us at the time. “It’s hard for them to simply cut ties and stop all communication. … Sydney and Jonathan have kept a healthy relationship during this period and are not back together.”
Glen Powell and Machine Gun Kelly
After playing love interests in 2023’s Anyone But You, Powell and Sweeney sparked romance rumors, despite both being in relationships at the time. (Powell was seeing Gigi Paris, while Sweeney was engaged to Davino.)
“I don’t have the capacity to fake something like this, but she’s very intelligent,” Powell mentioned to Business Insider in December 2023, addressing the romance rumors between him and Sweeney. “Sydney and I do share genuine chemistry. It was easier for Sydney to play into it since she’s in a committed and wonderful relationship, and she’s very content.”
After Powell’s split from Paris in April 2023 and Sweeney’s breakup from Davino in March 2025, the rumors resurfaced when Sweeney attended Powell’s sister Leslie’s wedding in Dallas.
“Glen and Sydney have nothing romantic between them. They are only friends,” a source exclusively revealed to Us in March 2025. “Sydney is close to the whole family. … Sydney brought one of her girlfriends as her guest to the wedding, and she RSVP’d months prior.”
Almost two months after Sweeney and Powell once again denied dating rumors, photos released by Page Six showed MGK and Sweeney embracing at a club opening in Las Vegas, leading some fans to speculate about their relationship. Later that month, the musician posted an Instagram carousel featuring a snapshot of him posing with the actress as they both flashed peace signs at the camera.
MGK seemed to dismiss any relationship rumors with Sweeney when asked by a viewer named “Kyle P.” on an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen if the pair were “more than just friends.”
“Kyle P, shut up, man,” MGK responded in August 2025.
Scooter Braun
Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun were initially connected after being seen strolling around Venice, Italy, before going to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in June 2025. Almost three months later, a source informed Us that Sweeney is “not exclusively dating anyone at the moment but is enjoying her time with Scooter.”
“It is not serious,” the insider stated, adding that Sweeney is “dating around and in her single phase without feeling any pressure.” However, the source noted that Braun is “very interested” in Sweeney.
After being spotted holding hands publicly on several occasions, another source revealed to Us in October 2025 that the relationship had become “more serious.”
“It has been low-pressure for both of them and has been a unique relationship for Sydney. Scooter has provided her with fresh perspectives, especially concerning business,” the insider disclosed, adding that Braun has “opened [her] eyes to opportunities and ways of thinking she hadn’t considered” before. “Sydney has been absorbing the knowledge he brings from working across a multitude of sectors and industries, and she truly admires his level of experience and insight.”
The source continued by saying that although Braun and Sweeney have been “keeping things casual and fun,” they have also been “consistently seeing each other for the past couple of months.”
“Scooter admires Sydney’s playful and easygoing personality and how she brings a sense of joy into his often stressful life,” the source explained.
