Following a defeat, Lions player Brian Branch seemingly ignored Patrick Mahomes, which led to a physical altercation with a Chiefs wide receiver.

Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ hard-fought victory over the Detroit Lions, a postgame scuffle between players erupted Sunday night.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes approached Lions defensive back Brian Branch for a customary handshake. Branch dismissed Mahomes’ gesture, and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster seemed to take issue with the snub.

Smith-Schuster and Branch exchanged words, after which the defensive back shoved the wide receiver’s helmet. Smith-Schuster went down on one knee, and running back Isiah Pacheco attempted to restrain the Lions player. Smith-Schuster retaliated, attempting to tackle Branch.

Despite Pacheco’s attempts to hold him back, Branch managed to remove Smith-Schuster’s helmet. Players from both sides intervened, attempting to separate the two. Another punch was thrown before the altercation concluded.
